Lego's Entertainment Strategy Shift
Lego Film Boss Says They ‘Probably’ Put Out Too Many Lego Movies Too Close Together 🔗
Lego's head of global entertainment, Jill Wilfert, admitted that releasing too many theatrical Lego movies too close together was a mistake. Despite positive reviews, the box office performance of the films did not meet expectations. In response, the company decided to reevaluate their strategy and focus on creating serialized content and reality-style television such as Lego Masters. The theatrical Lego movies released include The Lego Movie, The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Ninjago Movie, and The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Additionally, a new hybrid live-action animation film around the Lego franchise is in development by Adam and Aaron Nee for Universal Pictures.
